Four regional sites on one WordPress network
Bastion is the largest independent marketing and communications group in Australia and New Zealand, with more than 350 people across nine divisions and offices from Melbourne to Auckland to Los Angeles. Their web estate ran on Vercel, a global hub plus three regional sites. It looked fine from the outside, but inside, every content change, every new case study and every news post went through a developer.
What we did
We migrated the whole estate onto a single WordPress multisite network, the global hub plus dedicated Australia, New Zealand and US sites, each with its own divisions, case studies and news. Elementor gives the regional marketing teams full control of the pages they publish. Custom development sits underneath it, where the templates and the network architecture needed building properly. Every piece of existing content came across, for every region.
The result
One network instead of a developer bottleneck. Regional teams publish daily without engineering in the loop, new work and news ship straight from the CMS, and the estate stays consistent because all four sites run on one platform with one set of templates.
What to take from it
Choosing a platform is really choosing who is allowed to publish. A fast, developer-owned stack is a good answer for a product, and often the wrong answer for a marketing site, because the people with something to say can’t say it without booking a developer. If your team keeps asking you when a page can go up, the bottleneck isn’t your team, it is the platform you put in front of them.
