Privacy.

Innovate is a trading name of DB IT Limited (NZBN 9429048597890), a New Zealand company based in Hamilton. This statement explains what personal information we collect through innovate.partners, why, who we share it with, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, website (optional) and message.
  • Newsletter signup: your email address.
  • Email: whatever you choose to send us.
  • Browsing the site: usage information through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, such as the pages you visit, how you arrived, your device and browser, your approximate location from your IP address, and how you scroll and click. Clarity records sessions so we can see where the site confuses people. Form fields are masked, so what you type into a form is not recorded.

Why we collect it

  • To reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to run the work.
  • To email you if you joined the newsletter. Ask us any time and we'll take you off the list.
  • To understand how the site is used and make it better.
  • To keep spam and abuse out of our inbox.

We don't sell personal information and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the site and our email, and only for the purposes above:

  • Vercel: hosts the site and the form endpoint.
  • Cloudflare: checks that a form was sent by a person, not a bot.
  • FormSubmit: forwards form submissions to our inbox.
  • Google: our email (Google Workspace) and site analytics (Google Analytics).
  • Microsoft: site analytics and session recording (Clarity).

These providers process information on our behalf and may store it outside New Zealand, mainly in the United States. We'll also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity use cookies to tell visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works without them.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and emails are kept while they're useful for the conversation or the work, and anything tied to invoices is kept for as long as New Zealand law requires business records to be kept. Analytics data is kept for the retention periods set in Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email growth@innovate.partners and we'll respond within 20 working days. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

If we change this statement, we'll update it here and change the date below.
