Overview
Theme flexibility for a Darwin Aboriginal art gallery: exhibition pages, an interactive map and layout controls the team run themselves.

What we did
Where they started
A gallery in Parap, Darwin, housed in a reimagined laundromat, representing modern iterations of Aboriginal art and culture. The store had published over twenty exhibition pages on Shopify, but every new exhibition needed a developer to get the layout right, and the contact page content was locked inside an abandoned app’s data where nobody could edit it.
How we worked together
A focused round of theme flexibility work rather than a rebuild. The exhibition header gained text position and image fit controls, and a shared layout system went across the exhibition page sections: width, padding, and gaps, with separate mobile values. Home page sections gained border controls. The contact page got a new interactive map section, an image with branded clickable pins the team place themselves, and the contact details were rebuilt from orphaned app data into native theme blocks. Everything shipped with a recorded walkthrough of the new settings.
What changed
A new exhibition goes up without a developer in the loop. Layout decisions that used to be code are now settings in the theme editor, the contact page is fully editable in admin, and the gallery team own the whole publishing flow.
